The book is available for free. The main differences between the course and the book are (i) a more mathematical treatment of the topics covered; and (ii) a greater depth in the area of ​​deep learning. Two other important references for the course are *Elements of Statistical Learning*, by Trevor Hastie, Robert Tibshirani, and Jerry Friedman, and *Probabilistic Machine Learning*, by Kevin Murphy.
