MAGELANG, KOMPAS.TV - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka attended the peak celebration of Vesak Day 2569 BE at Borobudur Temple, Magelang, Central Java, on Sunday (May 31, 2026). In his remarks, Gibran urged Buddhists to continue to be pioneers of peace and strengthen the spirit of tolerance amidst Indonesia's diversity. Vice President Gibran also conveyed greetings from President Prabowo Subianto, who was unable to attend the Vesak celebration at Borobudur. According to him, the President conveyed his apologies and warm messages to all Buddhists in the country. "I would also like to convey the President's warm greetings to all of you present here. He expresses his deepest apologies for not being able to be with you all tonight. However, his hopes and love remain strong for all Buddhists in Indonesia," said Vice President Gibran. Furthermore, the Vice President expressed his appreciation for the contribution of Buddhists in maintaining social harmony through various humanitarian, educational, health, and community empowerment activities.
