48 Hours in Novska: Gateway to a Brighter Slavonian Future
The biggest surprise of 2024 for me has been the town of Novska, one hour east of Zagreb and the first town in Slavonia. Far from the usual stories of economic depression, no jobs and crushing emigration, Novska is investing heavily in its youth and social welfare. Kindergarten numbers have risen from 100 to 600 in sic years, more than 100 million in EU funding has been secured, and the town is set to be a European powerhouse to the gaming industry. And if you are looking for a celebration of Slavonian culture par excellence, look no further. Check out the latest in the Paul Bradbury on Location series - 48 Hours in Novska: Gateway to a Brighter Slavonian Future.
