At the end of the day looking back at the hours spent in the practice room playing the same part 'again and again', the significance of this seemingly boring process is not fully realised until put into context, becoming something much more meaningful in the end. I wrote this piece in the summer of 2017 to be performed for an I&E indoor marching percussion competition, with the 3-minute time limit in mind, as well as the timbre of synthetic budget marimbas used in many marching environments.
