Kalya Scintilla - The Resin Sessions - Live studio set (Analog and Digital synths + live percussion)

After months and months of inner and outer processes - gear learning challenges, self doubt, life outside the studio getting in the way.... I made a Kalya Scintilla studio set. I put a lot of (probably unnecessary) pressure on myself for this one. After 12 years of producing Kalya songs in Logic with endless tracks, layers, instruments and sound design - how could I possibly reduce those complex compositions down into less than 20 simple elements, and then sequence and play that live and get anything close to that sound? Well here it is. What I would call a more refined and mature Kalya Scintilla sound... a taste of things to come? Perhaps... I also wanted to step up the live aspect of this session so towards the end of composing the set I recorded a bunch of live percussion parts. I then used Logic Loops to trigger these parts with the iPad. That was a fun experience and definitely something I will explore more. And why 'The Resin Sessions' ?? - For the majority of the sessions that went into creating this set I was exploring the deep and nourishing realm of PÜRBLACK Shilajit Resin, focusing on how the intention of taking a mineral resin can aid, colour and shape the creative experience. Shilajit is powerful stuff, if you don't know what it is I reckon its worth checking out. Enjoy the music! KS Performed and recorded live in Kloud Studios. Sequenced with Elektron Featured synths/samplers: Analog Rytm MKII, Digitakt, Model Cycles, Digitone, Virus TI , Sub37, SIRIN ,Hydra Synth, Minilogue XD, PEAK, Iridium, SE-02 , Microfreak, Nord Drum3 Guitar pedals for reverb, delay & glitch/texture FX. Some additional reverb added in post.
