In the book of Jonah, God tells Jonah to arise and go to Nineveh— a wicked city and the capital of Assyria, Israel’s enemy—because God wanted to show them mercy. Jonah runs in the opposite direction, even paying to flee from God’s presence, because he didn’t want God to be merciful to people who had harmed his own. Yet God chooses Jonah anyway. Because the assignment wasn’t just about saving Nineveh— it was about healing what was hidden inside Jonah. The pain… the anger… the bitterness affecting his obedience. Sometimes God gives us assignments that stir up old wounds, and everything in us wants to say, “Lord, don’t send me there.” But He isn’t trying to hurt you—He’s trying to heal you. I declare every assignment God brings will become a place of healing. I pray fresh revelation over every area of pain, hurt, and disappointment. I release this over you now, in Jesus’ Name.
