Was esse ich beim Bikepacking? (Meine Lieblings Discounterprodukte) #DeepDiveDienstag E07
►► NEW: Packing List Configurator: https://www.zasada.cc/packlisten-gene... Here's how you can eat healthily, cheaply, and without a camping stove on multi-week bike trips! Using only supermarket groceries. No expensive sports nutrition or complicated recipes required. Food often seems unhealthy on a bikepacking tour because fresh and balanced nutrition is difficult to achieve on the road. That's why I've sought the best possible compromise that's actually practical. Anything that works on the road has to meet certain requirements. Here's what really matters when making your selection: Food Requirements for Bikepacking On a multi-week bikepacking tour without a stove, you need food that you can eat cold immediately, that is easy to chew and digest, and that you still enjoy in larger quantities. It must have a long shelf life without refrigeration and withstand pressure in your bag; fresh cold cuts or some fruits and vegetables are therefore unsuitable. It must be robust and not crumble immediately. High energy density combined with low volume and weight is essential. Foods must be easy to store, portion, and use in a variety of ways. Ideally, they should be well-packaged to prevent leakage. They should be available in almost every supermarket and remain affordable in the long run. At the same time, you need a balanced ratio of carbohydrates, protein, and fat throughout the day, as well as salt for recovery, plus micronutrients (especially folic acid, iron, iodine, zinc, omega-3 fatty acids, and selenium, and possibly also calcium, vitamins B2, B3, B6, and vitamin A) to avoid deficiencies if you can't eat enough fresh food for an extended period. You should also be able to buy these foods in almost any supermarket and remain affordable in the long term. * Ready to eat cold, easy to chew, and easily digestible Long shelf life without refrigeration, pressure-resistant, and non-crumbly High energy density with low volume and weight Space-saving, versatile, and easy to portion Securely packaged, no leakage Available in almost every supermarket and inexpensive Balanced ratio of carbohydrates, protein, and fat Contains sufficient salt and important micronutrients (especially folic acid, iron + vitamin C combination, iodine, zinc, and omega-3) If you cycle 100 to 150 kilometers a day, you need a lot of energy—but that doesn't mean you have to live on sugar and white bread for weeks on end. I'll explain how to correctly assess your energy needs, which macronutrients you really need, and how to eat a healthy and balanced diet while traveling.
