Pocho Wilson Pinto Peña gave an exclusive interview to the program "La Calle No Calla" on Panamericana Televisión, where he responded to accusations arising from reports filed by relatives of Peruvians who traveled to Russia and whose whereabouts are now unknown. During the interview, the retired military officer denied having deceived Peruvian ex-combatants and asserted that the individuals he referred to were fully aware of the service conditions. He explained that most were retired military personnel with prior experience in conflict zones. He also detailed that applicants undergo medical, physical, and training evaluations before signing any contract. He further indicated that they receive an initial bonus and a monthly salary, in addition to having lodging, meals, and internet access provided. Pinto Peña stated that his involvement was limited to sharing information and contacts with former comrades interested in these job opportunities, denying any formal role as a recruiter. However, the reports regarding the disappearance of Peruvian citizens in Russia continue to be investigated by the authorities.
