Sharpstown Stories, Final Chapter: Afghan Newcomers in Houston
In this final chapter of our Sharpstown Stories, we worked with our partners, Histrionix LLC and JR Sheetz, to tell the story of our Afghan newcomers. Our original intention was to make this the first in a series of videos about our students from Afghanistan, but it was not to be. We find that, even as a standalone story, this chapter gives our audience a firsthand view into the difficult and important work our teachers do in the most forgotten parts of our nation' s large cities and is a wonderful reminder that Sharpstown High School is Where the World Comes to Learn. On a personal note, it has been one of the great joys of my life to produce Sharpstown Stories for you. I plan on continuing to create stories that bring voice to our underserved communities. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected]. Thank you all for watching and sharing.
