NORMÁLISNAK MARADNI EGY ŐRÜLT VILÁGBAN - Mácsai Pál, színművész, rendező // Friderikusz Podcast 128.
The world is noisier, more tangled, and more fragmented than ever, while human inner silence has become increasingly fragile. Normality today is no longer a given, but rather the result of conscious attention, self-reflection, and setting boundaries. In this chaotic environment, preserving human dignity, meaningful conversation, and an inner compass has become a real challenge. For precisely these reasons, we decided to start a new series in which we talk with authentic, thoughtful people about how one can preserve inner balance in a rapidly changing and often chaotic era. For the first episode of the series, we invited Pál Mácsai, actor and director, whose guiding principles for many years have been human depth, nuanced perspective, and meaningful dialogue. IN THIS PODCAST WITH PÁL MÁCSAI – AMONG OTHER THINGS – WE DISCUSS THE FOLLOWING TOPICS AND QUESTIONS: ◼️ Is normality a kind of universal value, or rather the privilege of a minority in a world where the majority has gone mad? ◼️ Where is the boundary between preserving mental health and escaping from reality? ◼️ Is normality an inner state—something arising from our abilities and dispositions—or more of an attitude toward the outside world? ◼️ Is it not a contradiction that while theatre is fundamentally built on illusion, many people still seek truth within it? ◼️ In Hungary, is there still any common ground where people with different worldviews can meet? ◼️ What today can still be called reasonable public discourse? ◼️ Do the media’s constant disaster headlines help people prepare for difficulties, or do they rather paralyze them? ◼️ Where can we draw the line between digital freedom and digital addiction? ◼️ Can we distinguish real anxieties from artificially generated fears? ◼️ What role does trust, for example, play in helping a person remain whole in a disintegrating world? ◼️ Can balance be maintained more easily in solitude or in community? ◼️ Do family and friendships have a role in maintaining “normality”? ◼️ From the perspective of the future, is remaining normal still a sustainable human strategy?
