I chose Law because I’ve always wanted to make change happen; to be an instrument of change in society.” Like many, he assumed Law School would be scary from what he’d heard, but his experience turned out quite different. “It’s demanding,” he said, “but there’s really nothing to be afraid of.” Pressure was something he chose not to give power to. “I didn’t take heed to it,” he said. “I recognized it, placed it aside, focused on what I could control, and read harder.” He also made sure to rest and eat well, adding that “beyond what you know, how you feel determines a whole lot.” Benedict credits his success to his mindset, the people around him, and above all, the God factor, which he says can never be discounted.
