What is Salafiyyah and What is the Ruling on Ascribing to it? | Shaykh Muhammad ibn Hadi

There is no difference between the two terms. Salaf us-Salih are Ahl us-Sunnah wal Jamaa'ah, and Ahl us-Sunnah wal Jamaa'ah are Salaf us-Salih. Ahl us-Sunnah wal Jamaa'ah are the people of Sunnah, because of their adherence to it, and the people of the Jamaa'ah because of their clarification of (the affair) the people of innovation and division. This name became famous, so the people became familiar with it, and as a result, a lot of people started rejecting the second (term), even though its origin is in the speech of Allah and his Messengerﷺ.
