AutoPIPE Vessel: Flange's faces and assemblies

Flange assemblies can be classified according to different criteria, one of them being the geometry of their faces. Flat face, raised face, male and female, tongue and groove, and ring joint configurations each correspond to a specific combination of flange geometries that determine their temperature and pressure resistance. In some cases, a centering ring can help position the gasket, or a compression ring may be required to prevent gasket crushing. We will go through all these assemblies, as well as how to model each of them in AutoPIPE Vessel. 0:00 Intro 0:50 Flat faces (FF) 1:34 FF and full-face gasket 1:58 FF and Centering ring 2:12 Raised face (RF) 3:34 RF-RF Centering ring 3:56 RF-RF Compression ring 4:14 Male- Female 5:05 Groove 5:33 Ring joint type (RTJ) 6:23 O-ring (Groove + FF) – Metal to metal contact 7:35 Tongue and Groove 8:38 Summary
