Physically Challenged Lagos Lawyer Recounts Journey from Street Begging to Legal Practice
Abdulsalam Idowu, a lawyer living with disability, has shared the story of his difficult journey to becoming a legal practitioner. According to him, he was not born crippled, but lost the use of his legs as a child after a severe malaria illness that lasted several days and worsened before he was eventually taken to the hospital. Determined to get an education, Idowu said he resorted to begging on the streets from a young age to fund his schooling, travelling from his hometown to Lagos in search of alms before returning to continue his studies. Through years of persistence, he completed his education and eventually became a lawyer. Today, he is married with children and practices law, a testament to his resilience despite the challenges he faced growing up. #DisabilityInspiration #NigerianStories #HumanInterest #PunchVideos
