Gabriel Shemirani's sister, Paloma, died aged only 23 from cancer after refusing chemotherapy. Gabriel and his brother blame their mother, Kate Shemirani who had raised her children as a conspiracy theorist. Kate is a former nurse who was struck off for promoting COVID-19 misinformation. Gabriel believes his mother influenced Paloma with anti-medicine conspiracy theories. Gabriel will share his story with BBC journalist Marianna Spring, who will discuss the mainstreaming of these beliefs.
