HTC 7 Surround (2010) | Vintage Tech Showcase | Retro Review

The HTC 7 Surround is a Windows Phone 7 phone from 2010 which was a music phone with a slide out speaker with Dolby SRS (Sound Retrieval System). Basically from the 2nd generation of Windows phones ever released, a few months after the 1st Gen Windows phones which included the LG Optimus 7, HTC HD7 and Samsung Omnia 7. The HTC 7 Surround shipped with Windows Phone 7 and was eventually upgradable to Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 Processor, a decent display, a good camera, an amazing battery life and of course, its main party trick, its Dolby Surround Sound Speaker. It was a time when Symbian, IOS, Android and Windows Phone were on the market simultaneously, giving people a load of choices. Something which we barely have today. Its no Windows Phone 10 powerhouse like its successors but is what started it all. It also ain't no iPhone 12 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, Motorola Edge S or OnePlus 8T but its definitely an interesting phone. Its also considered as somewhat of a collectors item at this age and since I am phone collector with a massive phone collection, having this phone was a must.
