Chawal Muthiya I Leftover Rice Recipe I Muthiya Recipe | चावल मुठिया - लेफ्टओवर राइस मुठिया Chawal Muthia If you have some leftover rice, or you ended up making extra rice, then don’t discard it. Keep it for these tea time snack. We Gujaratis love Muthia all throughout the year, easy quick and absolutely delicious. Try out Chawal Muthia right away. Ingredients : 1 cup cooked rice Some finely chopped coriander, green chillies & ginger Ajwain, crushed with hands 1.5 tsp dhaniya jeera powder 1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi) 1 tsp asafoetida powder (hing) Salt as per taste 1/2 cup curd (dahi) 1/2 lemon juice 3 tbs oil 1 cup wheat flour 1 tbs gram flour (besan) 1 tbs semolina (suji - optional) Water 1 tsp mustard seeds (rai) 1 tsp sesame seeds(til) 1.5 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder Method : In a mixing bowl take 1 cup cooked rice Add some finely chopped coriander, green chillies & ginger (Add vegetables as per your choice) Add some ajwain, crushed with hands Add 1.5 tsp dhaniya jeera powder Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi) Add a pinch of asafoetida powder (hing) Add salt as per taste Add 1/2 cup curd (dahi) Add 1/2 lemon juice (Avoid using lemon juice if curd is too sour) Add 1 tbs oil (for softness) Add 1 cup wheat flour Add 1 tbs gram flour (besan) Add 1 tbs semolina (suji - optional) Add 2-3 spoon water and mix well with hands Apply some oil on palms Take 1/3 of this mixture and roll giving it a cylindrical shape Make 2 more rolls from remaining mixture Arrange these rolls in a food strainer greased with oil Keep some gap between each muthia roll Keep the strainer in 10 min pre heated steamer Cover the steamer lid with cloth Cook for 20 min on medium heat (Insert a knife in muthia to check if it's cooked, if knife comes out clean, it's ready) Cut the rolls into pieces when it cools down Further for tempering heat up the pan Add 2 tbs oil Add 1 tsp mustard seeds (rai) Add 1/2 tsp asafoetida powder (hing) Add 1 tsp sesame seeds(til) Add 1.5 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder Fry for a minute and add muthia pieces Gently toss them Add some lemon juice in the end (optional) Garnish with some fresh coriander Enjoy this Super Yummy & Scrumptious Chawal Muthia!!! 00:00 - Making of Chawal Muthiya 00:08 - Ingredients for muthiya 01:15 - Add curd and lemon 01:44 - Binding ingredient 02:31 - Mixing time 02:47 - Steamer greased 03:11 - Shaping the muthiyas 03:38 - Steaming time 03:50 - Meghna's super tip 04:21 - Cutting and Plating time 04:33 - Tempering needed 05:53 - Plating time 06:30 - Meghna tasting the Chawal muthiya .
