🎒Rifugio Casera Ditta – A Wild Walk in the Heart of the Friulian Dolomites An easy walk that leads to a still wild and pristine place, far from mass tourism: the Rifugio Casera Ditta. We are in Friuli Venezia Giulia, and to reach it, take the road from Longarone to the famous Vajont Dam, then continue towards Erto e Casso. Shortly after the dam, a paved road on the right leads to the hamlet of Pineda, where you can leave your car (there is no proper parking, but a few roadside parking areas). From here, trail 905 begins, which immediately climbs steeply through the woods. After about 400 meters, you'll come across a forest road, which you follow to the left. The route alternates uphill sections with easy slight slopes and descents, up to about 1,000 meters, the highest point of the tour. Here, a sign advises you to call the refuge to let them know you're arriving—a useful tip, as entry is not permitted without advance notice. We continue, leaving the forest road and descending along a narrow and exposed path through the woods, which passes through beech forests and small landslide-prone sections, to a small bridge over the Mesaz stream. After crossing the bridge, a new climb leads to an unclear fork: keep left to reach the refuge. The Casera Ditta refuge (956 m) is located in a spectacular natural amphitheater, surrounded by Monte Toc, Croda Bianca, Cimon di Valbona, and Col Nudo. This place is striking for its peace and rugged beauty, perfect for those seeking tranquility away from the hustle and bustle.
