Based on the story by Anthony Hope. Rudolph Rassendyll, King Rudolf's look-a-like cousin, is asked to risk his life and impersonate the King because of a feared assassination attempt. But when the real King is kidnapped, Rassendyll finds that he must continue the impersonation until King Rudolf is rescued. However Princess Flavia, the King's wife-to-be, begins to notice a personality change in him.
