Northern Evia island. A green paradise that no longer exists. Most of the landscapes you watch in this video have been destroyed by massive wildfires that were burning everything for 10 days. This ecological disaster is incalculable. It will take many decades for nature to be reborn. The inhabitants of the area lost their property, houses, crops, animals and businesses. Actually they lost everything they had. Along with the forest, the present and the future of this people was burned. This video is not meant to make you feel sad and start crying. It is not our intention to make you feel anger or despair. It is time to make a promise to ourselves. That we will manage to make Northern Evia, Greece green again, as before. With all our might. By changing our mentality. With constant effort and volunteerism. Each one of us, from all parts of Greece and abroad can help. Evia and the people of Evia need us! For the ecological balance and the sustainability of the next generations. We owe it to our conscience. In Northern Evia the inhabitants lived peacefully and harmoniously integrated in the natural environment. The forest was their life and often their source of income. Through beekeeping, animal husbandry, timber, pine resin and secondly through tourism. Northern Evia has never been a top tourist destination in Greece. It remained authentic and untouched. And it was burned almost helplessly. In a democracy there should be space for all views and opinions. With composure, dialogue, arguments and without aphorisms. I really do not know what exactly is to blame for this holocaust and what caused it. But we must quickly learn the truth and be prepared properly so that such a catastrophe will not happen again in any other part of Greece and the world. Let no one else experience the ecological and humanitarian catastrophe that took place in Northern Evia. It is worth noting that the Edipsos Baths, which are not developed as it should, have hot springs. A wealth of geothermal energy and green growth remains untapped.
