He didn’t say he completely believed it, but he didn’t deny it either. “They say God… is the laws of nature.” He paused and chuckled softly: “Why not?” For him, it wasn’t a religion in the traditional sense. No obligatory rituals, no rigid rules. Just a different way of looking at the world. “When you look back on the day,” he said, “the encounters, the conversations… everything seems to have a purpose.” He wasn’t sure if it was faith or simply a way to find inner peace. “But I feel good,” he said. "And maybe... that's enough." Story 2: The Neighborhood and Conflicts "I live in a... very diverse neighborhood." The man talked about where he lived—a place with many immigrants and diverse cultures. He mentioned restaurants, especially the doner kebab he loved so much. "I love Turkish food," he said. But then he changed the subject. "Next year... I'm going to vote for the AfD." A pause. He knew it sounded contradictory. Loving the cultural aspects... and at the same time supporting a different political direction. "I don't know how to explain it," he said. "It's just... that's how I feel." He wasn't an extremist. Not angry. Just torn between conflicting thoughts that he couldn't explain himself. Story 3: 10,000 Euros and Reality "I have to invest 10,000 euros in my apartment." The man spoke very realistically. No philosophy, no rambling. Just numbers. "10,000 euros... that's a lot." He lives in a shared apartment, not in ideal circumstances. To improve his situation, he has to spend a lot of money—but his job doesn't provide him with a corresponding income. "You don't earn much with a real job," he says. He has no debt. That makes him feel good. But it also means he has to manage everything himself. "Younger people... they can try out a lot of things," he says. "But I... have to budget." He's not complaining. He simply recognizes that life isn't always about getting ahead—sometimes it's just about preventing something worse from happening.
