He provided an overview of 'Alternatives to Current (Ancient) University Pedagogy,' questioning the usefulness and effectiveness of conventional university teaching methods based on lecturing, textbooks and compulsory attendance, asking 'does anybody anywhere learn anything under compulsion?'
