And he gives confidence to those who are members of the far right. He gives confidence to those who are racists. He gives confidence to those who believe that Muslims are inferior.” 9. He wants to pit us against each other. And my response to him spreading fear is hope. My response to him trying to divide communities is to try and unite communities and it is really important we don’t allow president Trump or his allies or his acolytes to spread hatred and division in Europe. We are a wonderful continent. One of the reasons I believe we are wonderful is our diversity going back centuries.” 11. Khan walking 12. In fact, the homicide rate in London is less than Paris, is less than Brussels, is less than Berlin, is less than Montreal, is less than any city in the USA. Every state in the USA has higher homicide rate than London. We know knife crime is going down. We know burglary is going down. We know gun crime is going down. We’re not perfect. There are, of course, issues in London and we are addressing them, but it is really important to ask yourself a question why are people spreading lies about London. Why is president Trump picking on London, saying negative things about London? It's because we are a liberal city. We are a progressive city. We are a multicultural city and we are incredibly successful. Just two weeks ago international judges in Singapore gave London the Lee Kuan Yew Prize for the best city in the world.
