There's a fundamental principle you can't skip: knowing how to defend against direct strikes. In this training, we work on precisely that. We begin with a classic Silat warm-up, in low stances, preparing the body as it's always been done… and from there, everything starts to flow. First, a solid understanding of defense. No frills. No fancy techniques. Real strikes, clear defenses. And when that starts to come together, the work shifts: evasions, footwork (lankas), changes of angle… all come into play, and little by little, everything becomes more dynamic. More alive. You'll see moments where the body no longer responds rigidly, but with rhythm: knee jumps, explosive entries, takedowns… that point where Silat feels different from other systems. But to get there, you need something many people are reluctant to work on: real physical conditioning. Without it, this kind of dynamic approach simply isn't possible.
