Cammini. - "Il cammino dell'Arcangelo" - Da Benevento a Monte Sant'Angelo

The Archangel's Path. From Benevento to Monte Sant'Angelo. The path that, along the Via Appia Traiana, in Benevento, leads to the Sanctuary of Saint Michael in Gargano, an ancient pilgrimage destination from all over Lombard and Germanic Christian Europe, after the Gargano sanctuary became established. The Way of Saint Michael was later seen as an integral part of the pilgrimage that continued to Jerusalem and the Holy Land, which could be reached from the ports of Puglia. We retrace that ancient path, also visiting the places of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, who was also devoted to Saint Michael.
