Was Old Minecraft Really That Scary?

This is not a video essay, I know it looks like one from the title. Editing this I realize I was very clearly scatterbrained so I think I'm going to try and make my thoughts clear here. Was old Minecraft actually scary? As an adult I'd say no, not at all. As a child I think it definitely could have been, but not anymore with the whole fact that the entirety of the internet has changed. You can't perpetuate a rumor the way you used to be able to, no sort of creepypasta or anything and I think that really kills the scare factor. Somehow I'm getting scatterbrained even writing the description, maybe herobrine is corrupting my brain irl or something I don't know, I hope what I said makes sense at least.
