Entrevista | Agoney: "2018 fue de los peores años que he vivido en mi vida"

On April 26th, Agoney released the first single from his new album, "Tormenta," a special song for the artist, as he says he "found the perfect team," and thanks to them, he created the album he had been dreaming of for years. Agoney: "I'd wanted to do this for a long time, but I was going through a very dark period." The 28-year-old from the Canary Islands confessed that he had been trying to release such a different kind of album for years, but had never managed to do so until last month, when he launched his single "Tormenta," a song that has already reached 88,000 streams. In 2017, the artist entered the Operación Triunfo academy, launching his singing career and winning the hearts of millions of viewers, reaching the semifinals of the show. However, despite the tour being a fond memory for most of his bandmates, Agoney remembers it as a time when "I had a huge mess at home and I was very focused on what was happening there. I didn't pay much attention to what was going on on social media, on the tour, or anything else." After that, he participated in other competitions, such as "Tu cara me suena" (Your Face Sounds Familiar), which he won, and the Benidorm Fest, where he became a finalist to represent Spain at Eurovision. After the latter festival, the singer recalls receiving a huge wave of hate on social media. Agoney describes his first album as "an album released from a place of intimacy." Now he returns with "Tormenta" (Storm), a song that "is written in the third person, it's written for someone, and I personify a person as if they were the storm. I explain how that storm floods everything." "I've been a huge fan of storms since I was little. You're sleeping and suddenly you wake up to that dazzling light and you're blown away by how crazy and powerful nature can be." Agoney describes the song's message as one of strength and empowerment, a way for him to raise his voice.
