Joshua Series_Once Again #4 - 'Remember and Remember' (Joshua 4:1-18) Your Steps Become Milestones God instructed the Israelites who crossed the Jordan River to erect a monument with those stones. Their faith and steps would become a monument for future generations and a compass for them on the path of faith. Similarly, in my own life, Jesus Christ has become the way and the truth, and as I follow Him, I too become a compass for others. There are many young people in our church who have come from the countryside. It's not Pastor Lim Hyung-gyu who brings them comfort. I'm simply a typical, sophisticated Seoulite, born and raised in Seoul. What gives them more strength than I am are the elders who came from the countryside or abroad and settled in this city first. They serve as compasses. There are people who have experienced pain and loss unknown to others. Perhaps they themselves cannot understand that pain. They cling to God and struggle to walk their path. And as time passes, that person becomes a compass for those who have just experienced the same pain, feeling bewildered and at a loss. Those who have found a job, those who have established a startup, those who have gotten married, those who have had children, those who have settled into a church, and so on. You are someone who has left a mark on others, leading the way, and your steps become a path and a milestone for them. Therefore, I cannot make choices just for myself. I must make choices for us. I must make choices that will not shame those who follow. If you speak confidently but live shamefully, you become a staunch conservative. Therefore, even if it means taking a loss right now, you must take steps that you are not ashamed of.
