The Price of Exile - Heart's Eye Films Exile is an emotionally charged story about a father who goes to Australia to work in order to provide a better future for his family, and the unspeakable pain he experiences leaving his family behind. Hilmi, struggling to make ends meet due to unemployment, decides to go to Australia hoping to secure his family's future. He bids a sorrowful farewell to his wife Ayşe, son Baran, and young daughter Asuman, promising his daughter a teddy bear backpack upon his return. While the family tries to endure the hardships of exile, an unexpected tragedy turns their lives upside down. Shortly after Hilmi's departure, Baran and Asuman go to the park without their mother's knowledge. Asuman is hit by a car while trying to cross the road, and the little girl loses her life. This tragic loss plunges Ayşe and Baran into deep mourning, and Hilmi's absence only intensifies their grief. Ayşe and Baran both suffer the pain of losing their daughter and wage a difficult struggle to ensure justice prevails. Because their father is away working, they cannot tell him about Asuman's death for a long time. Days later, a package sent by Hilmi from Australia arrives home, and the family speaks on the phone. Baran, unable to hide the truth any longer, tearfully tells his father that his sister Asuman has died. Hilmi, on his journey abroad to earn a living, is devastated by the indescribable pain of not being able to see his child one last time.
