Refining Gold and Silver recovered from jewellery scraps and bench sweeps

In this video, I demonstrate the process of recovering gold and silver from jeweller’s scrap using a series of chemical reactions. I begin by separating the metals using nitric acid, followed by precipitating silver chloride with sodium chloride (table salt). After that, I dissolve the silver in ammonia and precipitate it again using ascorbic acid (vitamin c). For gold recovery, I use ferrous sulfate to precipitate the gold from aqua regia. This video showcases a step-by-step guide for safely recovering precious metals, perfect for anyone interested in chemistry, metal refining, or recycling precious metals from scrap jewellery. #GoldRecovery #SilverRecovery #PreciousMetals #JewelryScrap #gold refining
