The Bright Midnight - Ultra Bikepacking Race - 1140 Kilometer durch Norwegen

Hi, my name is Dennis, and I'm passionate about cycling. I'm always drawn to the mountains, whether it's crossing the Atlas Mountains in the Atlas Mountain Race, Greece, Italy, Germany, or the Silk Road Mountain Race in Central Asia – Kyrgyzstan. This year, I participated in the Bright Midnight race, which had around 230 participants, but only about 170 finished. This time, I'll show you Norway through my eyes – definitely colder than expected, but absolutely beautiful! A few details about "The Bright Midnight": Approximately 1,140 kilometers, 20,000 meters of elevation gain, and just under 6.5 days until the cutoff. The conditions are pretty tough. While 60% of the route is on roads, the climbs, along with the weather, are definitely challenging! Temperatures around freezing make things difficult here and there, especially with the frequent rain, but as expected, the nights are as bright as day. Spoiler alert: I finished 50th with a time of 101 hours and 30 minutes. My next big adventure starts on August 15th at the Silk Road Mountain Race, where I'll be riding 2,000 kilometers with 35,000 meters of elevation gain through Kyrgyzstan. Last year, I worked hard on my setup and fitness, and I'll give it my all, while still enjoying this huge adventure as much as possible! Spoiler alert: I finished 50th with a time of 101 hours and 30 minutes.
