US-Iran Peace Deal: Tehran To Dilute Nuclear Stockpile, Reopen Hormuz As US Frees $25B Assets

A draft memorandum between the United States and Iran outlines agreements regarding nuclear enrichment, sanctions, and maritime security. According to a senior Iranian official, Tehran has agreed not to produce or acquire nuclear weapons and will work with the US to dilute its highly enriched uranium stockpile of approximately 450 kg inside Iran within the next 60 days. In exchange, the US will waive oil sanctions for a specified period and release 25 billion dollars in frozen Iranian assets through direct cash transfers and financial credit lines. Furthermore, Iran will immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz to all commercial vessels, restoring the status quo ante of February 27, 2026. Simultaneously, the US will lift its naval blockade over the strategic choke point.
