How much trail tire is really in Schwalbe's new model? This video is a response to, or rather a continuation of, this Q6A video here, which already discussed Schwalbe trail tires:    • WAS IST MIT SCHWALBE, MAXXIS, ORBEA, PANCH...   Schwalbe's Tacky Chan and Wicked Will perform well, but they're not a combo that will make everyone happy. Classics like the Magic Mary and Hans Dampf perform significantly better, but they also weigh considerably more and are more like chunky enduro tires than slim trail bike tires. This is noticeable in the tread pattern and the amount of rubber used. Even with a thinner casing, this adds weight. And weight always plays a role in how a bike feels. Less mass makes every bike feel lighter. Especially with trail bikes, tires can quickly cause the proverbial agility to be lost. In my opinion, Schwalbe doesn't offer enough "true" trail tires. By that, I don't mean just the "trail" label, but the tread pattern, the amount of rubber – in short: the entire tire is designed more for trail bikes than for enduro or downhill bikes. A downhill tire remains a downhill tire, even with a thinner casing. Especially on an 18+ kg trail eMTB, I want to mount appropriate tires. Schwalbe's selection of trail-style tires has always been rather limited. Spoiler alert: Schwalbe will certainly be releasing something new in 2024 – but we'll talk about that when the time comes. ...
