Growing Access to Work Readiness Learning Experiences in Developing Countries

On-the-job learning and early exposure to the labor market are widely considered essential stepping stones for developing a wide range of skills and improving employability. However, internships or apprenticeships often only reach a small minority of youth, especially where the formal private sector is small. This discussion examines alternative models of work-integrated learning that have the potential to reach young people at scale, especially in low- and middle-income countries.
