Nucleares: The Boron experiment

Why do we add boron? You'll hear everyone saying, "To counteract Xenon" No poisons aren't added to counteract poison. They are added to reduce some of the excess reactivity that is in the fuel. A fresh core has a lot of available fuel. If I allow all of it to burn without poison, I will use up my fuel faster, enter boron. It lowers the reactivity of the core, saving the life of the fuel. Imagine you could go full throttle, but you still produce the same power as you would with a 1/4 throttle, this is essentially what is happening. So the boron comes in, and reduces the flux, so that fuel isn't burned to quickly. Not sure if the game dynamics are that complex, so is it really useful, doubtful.
