Divisional Costing - Method, Procedure, Definition, Use, Types (single-step, two-step, multi-step divisional costing) & Examples Simply Explained - Cost and Performance Accounting (CPA). Divisional costing calculates the cost per unit of produced good or product. This is most suitable for producing the same or a similar product in large quantities. If exactly one product is manufactured, single-step divisional costing is used; if two products or one product in different versions are produced, two-step divisional costing is used. For more complex production processes, multi-step divisional costing is used.
