To celebrate Eva's end of kindergarten, we ran away for a night to Eforie Nord — a little tradition that has been going on for 3 years for us. Every summer, we return to the Romanian seaside for a day or two and rediscover it, with good and bad, but generally with better :) This time we stayed at Hotel Tadora (3★), https://www.hoteltadora.ro/ - where a night's accommodation in June costs around €50 and includes breakfast. In July and August it's around €80. It's a very clean and decent hotel, the rooms look very good and we were impressed by the cleanliness and the fact that everything was well-organized in the hotel. In Eforie we had time to walk along the seafront, go to the beach and test the food at Terasa cu Ancore. Overall, it was 2 short but full days. The only thing that didn’t work out for us was the weather, but we’ll leave that to experiences and lessons for next time — we’ll probably move the getaway a week later. The Romanian coast remains, for us, a very affordable option for short 1–2-night getaways, especially due to its proximity. In just ~2 hours we’re already at the beach, which makes it perfect for spontaneous and short, low-budget vacations. The road to Eforie cost us only 40 lei by electric car and during our walks we found full menus on the seafront for 25 lei.
