I'm often surprised that drawing students think Colour is intimidating. To learn to draw, you need to tackle tricky subjects like form, values, proportion and perspective. Once you've tackled those tricky skills, I don't think it's that hard to add colour. Sometimes colour theory and various other ideas can make colour seem complex and esoteric. But in practice, I think it's enough to have a rough idea of the colour wheel in your head, and learn to move around it.
