Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania/ Pine Creek Gorge Not but a few minutes from our seasonal site is the Leonard Harrison State Park one of two state parks that has a lookout over the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. The other is Colton Point State Park. Both parks were built by the CCC and on opposite sides of the Gorge. Colton Point is the more primitive of the parks where Leonard Harris is more developed. The gorge at each one of these lookouts is about 800 ft. in depth, but the gorge near Waterville gets to depths of 1,450 ft. and about 1 mile in width. The Bradley Wales lookout, though undeveloped, is one of the best places we’ve found so far to get the best view. We took the West Riim Rd. through the canyon which follows the West Rim Trail that runs 30 miles through the canyon. The canyon in its entirety is 47 miles in length. We end our tour near Tiadaghton and Blackwell. Hope you enjoy and it entices you to make your own trip to the area.
