Paris Fashions (1947)
Unissued / unused footage - dates and locations may be unclear / unknown. Note: this is UN 1746 D, prepped as UN 1845 - presumably that is the film can it now resides in. Paris, France. Various shots of girls modelling summer dresses in outdoor surroundings in a wood, by a stream of water lilies. The dresses look very much like Christian Dior's New Look - very elegant and feminine, with very full skirts, or slim and draped. Some models wear large hats. Evening gowns are modelled by women on a terrace and a huge flight of stone steps - looks like grounds of a country mansion. Some have enormous evening coats over them. A woman in a spotted day dress lolls beside the river. She plucks a water lily from the river, sniffs it, then wonders what to do with it! More elaborate evening gowns with enormous tulle skirts, some with high necks and long sleeves. FILM ID:2188.03 FOR LICENSING ENQUIRIES VISIT http://www.britishpathe.com/
