Stadler Flirt Akku Triebwagen in der Holsteinischen Schweiz zwischen Bad Malente-Gremsmühlen u. Plön

English subtitles available – Train traffic between Bad Malente-Gremsmühlen and Plön (federal state of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany) – Bad Malente-Gremsmühlen station is located at the railway line between Lübeck and Kiel. Regional trains RB84 and regional express trains RE83 run on this line alternating. Both of them run every hour, and together there is a train every 30 minutes. All trains on this line are run by Erixx railway company using Stadler Flirt battery electric multiple units. In former times a line to Lütjenburg branched off here. Remainders of the former platform can be seen on the northern side of the station – and also a 600 mm track, dating from the time when the line had been used for a 600 mm narrow gauge railway (field railway) some years ago. Some remainders of the narrow gauge track can be seen next to the tracks leading to Lübeck as well. After the time of the 600 mm railway a railway with draisines was implemented here. The following scenes in the video were filmed at various locations along the railway line between Bad Malente-Gremsmühlen and Plön. There it is a bit hilly. That's why this landscape is also called "Holsteinische Schweiz" (Switzerland of Holstein, Holstein being the southern part of Schleswig-Holstein). The Name Holsteinische Seenplatte is also used (lake district of Holstein) as there are many lakes. Plön railway station is located right at the lake Großer Plöner See. The station building has a beautiful wooden canopy.
