Progressive Flexibility Demo #1: Applying Flexibility to the Tune Impressions
In this brief demo, I show some possible practice/performance jazz applications of the first exercise in my book "Progressive Lip Flexibilities for Brass." In the quest to be less boring to myself and others, it occurred to me that practicing anything from fundamentals to advanced techniques need not be tedious. Creativity can come from combining seemingly disparate elements, always with the idea that what we are playing should groove (regardless of genre or style), and should sound as good as possible in the moment. It's also cool if you can practice a lot and it NOT hurt, but that's a different demo for a different day. Available only at www.scottbelck.com
