Memoria locului - Casa Săvoiu din Craiova

Director: Simona Carauleanu A beautiful house in Craiova, which takes us back to the old days, is Casa Săvoiu, known in the past as the "House with Two Lions" due to the two marble Roman lions positioned on its terrace. Built between 1890-1892, it had several owners over time, the last belonging to the Săvoiu family. The house impresses with its architecture, but especially with the interior painting executed by Francisc Tribalsky, who also decorated other famous buildings in Craiova. We only mention the houses of the families: Vorvoreanu, Pleșia, Romanescu, Jean Mihail Palace, Dolj County Administrative Palace, etc. The last restoration of the interior painting of this house, carried out in the early 1990s, brought it back to "life".
