When the Rain Falls Outside the rain is softly falling, The wind is singing through the trees. Clouds may hide the morning sunlight, But they can't hide Your love from me. When the cold reaches my soul, And silence fills the empty room, I hear Your gentle voice reminding me, "My child, I'm always here with you." Though the sky is gray above me, Your faithfulness has never changed. Even when I cannot see the road, Jesus, You still lead the way. Jesus, You are the fire that warms my heart, My shelter when the storms begin. On the darkest, cloudiest days of life, Your perfect love shines through again. You're the blanket of my hope, The peace this world could never give. While the rain falls on my window, In Your arms I safely live. There are flowers that only bloom After seasons filled with rain. So You teach my heart to trust You, Knowing nothing is in vain. Winter never lasts forever, Every tear will fade away. For the One who conquered death itself Brings new mercies every day. You never promised skies without clouds, But You promised You would walk with me. You never promised a life without tears, But Your grace would be enough for me. When I cannot find the answers, I find Your presence once again. And that is more than I could ask, Because my hope is found in Him. Jesus, You are the light within my home, Even when the sun won't shine. You're the flame that warms the winter, And the hope that fills my life. So I'll softly sing these words: "My Savior, You are here with me." Though the rain may last all through the night, I'll wake in perfect peace with Thee. Let the rain keep falling outside... Your peace is here within. For wherever Jesus dwells, His light will always win.
