For example, Ms. Thongdee, a single mother caring for her disabled daughter who cannot care for herself, works odd jobs near her home to care for her child constantly. Her only income is the 1,000 baht disability allowance for her daughter. She hoped to use the government welfare card as an additional source of income, but upon checking her eligibility, she found she did not meet the criteria because the system indicated she owned two vehicles. She currently owns no cars or even motorcycles. She previously owned a used car but sold it many years ago. She tearfully said that the 300 baht means a lot to her, as it can buy rice, fish sauce, and diapers. She wants the relevant agencies to verify the information. Mr. Somrit also confirmed that he has never owned a car since birth. A person with only an old motorcycle to take their grandchildren to school, to the farm, and to sell vegetables for income, was disqualified by the system because they owned two cars, despite having been eligible in previous rounds. The Department of Land Transport acknowledges that many people did not meet the criteria due to vehicle ownership issues. This is partly because vehicles have been sold but the registration hasn't been transferred, or because someone else used their name to purchase a vehicle without their knowledge. Therefore, those who did not meet the criteria are advised to appeal between July 17-31, 2026, via the project website, the government application, the Paotang application, or registered banks. They can also check their vehicle ownership information free of charge at provincial and branch transport offices nationwide using their national ID card. If the vehicle registration information is found to be inaccurate, the Department of Land Transport will promptly correct the data to support their appeals and protect their rights. For those who did not meet the criteria because they were identified as students and wish to have their information verified by the Office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (OSMHE), they can provide details by filling out the online form at the agency's link.
