It will show you the complications and confusions of the adjective when it is confused with continuous verbs, past participle adjectives, pronouns, gerunds, or passive verbs by using a single golden rule. It discusses possessive pronouns and possessive adjectives. It revises how to tell gerunds from participles. It will show you order of adjectives and types to help writing become more descriptive and impressive. Pick out the adjectives in this group. virtuous, inclination, inadvertantly, foolishness, susceptible, intrinsic, secrecy, admonishing, exponentially, predicament, amateruish, feline 2. State whether the -ing word is a gerund or a participle. a) The girl expecting an answer from her father began to fret when it didn't arrive. b) Expecting an answer from her father caused the girl to fret when it didn't arrive. 3. Say whether the following sentences have a possessive adjective or a possessive pronoun. a) Those are the very dust particiles that will pollute the air. b) Each precious particle of gold dust was gathered. 4. Name the adjectives in this sentence. Say whether they are attributive or predicative The chirping, melodious music of the songbirds was soothing to some and cacophonous to others. 5. Mark all the adjectives in this sentence and say what kind they are. The questions set were unending, and left the students exhausted. Answers - 1) Answer: virtuous, susceptible, intrinsic, admonishing, amateruish, feline 2) Answer: a) participle b) gerund 3) Answer: Those - possessive pronoun Each - possessive adjective. 4) Answer: chirping, melodious - attributive soothing, cacophonous - predicative 5) Answer: Adjectives: set (past participle); unending (present participle predicative); exhausted (past participle predicative)
