In this episode, I reach Ambinanitelo, a small village hidden in the tropical jungle, where history, travel, and extraordinary dreams converge at one point on the world map. It was here that traveler and writer Arkady Fiedler settled and conducted his observations years ago. This extraordinary settlement provided the basis for one of his most famous books about Madagascar. Following in the footsteps of ancient explorers, I attempt to discover the places that inspired the author and bring history to life again on camera. Ambinanitelo, however, is not just a literary legend. It is also a region connected to one of the most fascinating chapters of Polish history outside Europe. In the 1930s, the island was at the center of ambitious settlement plans, and expeditions arrived in Madagascar to explore the possibilities of developing future ventures. Fiedler observed local life, nature, and culture, leaving behind an invaluable record of that era. During this expedition, I'm showing the true face of eastern Madagascar. I'm crossing tropical landscapes, visiting places familiar from books, and uncovering stories that have been almost forgotten for years.
