BBC Radio 4 broadcast the world premiere of Harold Pinter’s Victory on Saturday, February 28, 2015. The production aired as part of the Unmade Movies series, which brought discarded or unproduced screenplays by major 20th-century writers to the radio. Pinter had originally written the script in 1982 as a film adaptation of Joseph Conrad’s 1915 novel, but Hollywood dropped the project because period dramas of that scale were deemed too expensive at the time.
