Índice de Saturação de Langelier (ISL) no tratamento de águas de abastecimento: Exemplos de Cálculo

One of the most important parameters in drinking water treatment is the Langelier Saturation Index (LSI), which was originally proposed to control the corrosiveness of treated water and protect the pipes that make up the water distribution system. Although no longer used for corrosion control in water supply systems, the LSI parameter is of great importance because it ensures that the water is not supersaturated with calcium carbonate, preventing its precipitation in constituent parts of the system. Therefore, the objective of this video is to present two examples of LSI calculations, indicating the importance of temperature in the solubility of calcium in the liquid phase and its potential for precipitation as calcium carbonate.
