I have probably mined a gram of gold out of a 10 square foot area. Downstream from the Magic Culvert, however, Conundrum Creek has been a big disappointment. The "man-made" creek flows like a jet engine during storms, washing away the natural clayey cobble fields that typically hold the best gold in these parts. So I am on a quest to find spots in Conundrum Creek where some "virgin" cobbly clays might be hiding...
